Nine years ago I heard the three dreaded words no one wants to hear. "You have cancer." Not only did I have one tumor, but I had 2 invasive tumors. I was in my 30's with no family history of breast cancer and felt I was in good health because I was active as a runner and not overweight. I thought I was eating right and doing all the right things.
The diagnosis made me examine my lifestyle. I had to take an honest look at what role I played in my cancer. I looked at my medical history, my social life and my mental health. I learned how to be my own advocate in my cancer and health journey. Today I have no evidence of cancer and I'm healthier now than I have ever been. This journey made me realize that there is little to no education for women on a preventative lifestyle and it is my mission to help women learn simple changes they can make for optimal health.
I suffered from severe reproductive issues for most of my adult life, being diagnosed in menopause at the age of 36. I had horrible symptoms from hot flashes to night sweats where I woke up drenched to feeling like I had zero control over my emotions. I also struggled with headaches and migraines, so bad that they would take my vision on my left side. I went to countless doctors and specialists, spending time and money with no solutions. Eight years ago, I was introduced to a more natural lifestyle. In short order, my headaches went away and I was able to finish menopause with little to no symptoms. I regained my energy, my emotional health and am physically healthier at 55 than I was in my 30's.
This journey has led me to give a voice to toxins and help other women learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.
